GEORGETOWN, Del. – In Delaware a wreath-laying ceremony is planned to honor fallen officer Chad Spicer.
Spicer was killed in the line of duty during a traffic stop 14 years ago. 47 ABC spoke with Georgetown Police who say Officer Spicer was a father, husband, and all-around good person.
And while Officer Spicer may be gone, this is a celebration to honor his memory and the community that he stood for. “We want it to be a sense of community, we want it to embody everything that it stood for – just being himself and for everybody to come out and share stories or listen to stories,” Lieutenant Joel Diaz emphasized.
Lieutenant Joel Diaz says everyone is welcome as this is a celebration of life. The wreath-laying ceremony will take place on September first at the Georgetown circle.
